P2P (peer-to-peer)

It is a designation of a computer network type. Clients in these networks communicate together directly (as equals). The term P2P mainly relates to networks where counterparts interchange data among one another (eg. torrents). The basic advantage then is, that in contrast to the communication via server which has a constant capacity and with additional clients the transfer rate, therefore, decreases, in P2P networks the available transfer rate with additional clients increases.
