77% of small retail chains prefer EDI

EDI

A significant majority of small retail chains operating in the Czech market make their business and logistics processes more effective by fully using EDI (Electronic Data Interchange).

The findings have emerged from an extensive research by CCV Information Systems, which has focused on hobby markets, online stores, consumer electronics chains, cleaning products, cosmetics, furniture and home accessories, in addition to the traditional food chains.

The research has also concluded that although EDI is already commonplace within most retail chains, it has not yet captured the entire flow of trade, fiscal, and logistic documents. Many chains use only the basic documents such as the order (ORDERS) and invoice (INVOICE). Most comprehensive communication is used by Globus (with nine EDI messages) and by retail chain Coop Moravia and Macro (8 messages).
